10 Day Pacific Northwest Campervan Adventure
This great itinerary combines the volcanic peaks of Washington’s Cascade and Olympic Mountain Ranges before heading north to Vancouver.
DAY 1 - 2: SEATTLE TO PORT ANGELES
Collect your RV from our depot in Everett. Your first stop and one of the jewels of the national park system is the magnificent Olympic National Park. This stretch of the Pacific Ocean coastline is one of America’s great wilderness areas and with no roads directly through the park, it has remained largely untouched by humans. Given its lack of roads into the park, we suggest spending 2 nights near Port Angeles. There are a number of ways to get to Olympic National Park, including many different ferry options from towns along the coast
DAY 3: QUINAULT VALLEY, OLYMPIC PENINSULA
Spend the next day exploring the western peninsula of the park and the Pacific coastline. For those familiar with the Twilight series, stop in the town of Forks, which was the primary setting used for the films and books. Overnight in the wilderness of the Quinault Valley.
DAY 4: MT. RAINIER NATIONAL PARK
After your time on the Olympic peninsula, it’s time to head east to yet another stunning region of this wild state. At over 14,000ft, Mt. Rainier is often visible throughout the state and is
still an active volcano, this mountain is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous USA
DAY 5: LAKE CHELAN
Head north along highway 97 skirting the eastern edge of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and into the North Central region of Washington state. Take a slight detour east and visit the Grand Coulee Dam, the largest electricity production facility in the USA and the largest concrete structure in the country. There is enough concrete in the Grand Coulee Dam to build a 60ft wide road, four inches thick, from Los Angeles to New York City! Finish heading west towards the beautiful Lake Chelan and your lakeside
accommodation for the night.
DAY 6-8: VANCOUVER
Vancouver and the Burnaby Cariboo. We firmly recommend that you stay at this campground for 3 or 4 nights. The campground has a bus stop with a half-hourly service into the city right outside the door or you can take a 15 minute walk and catch the Skytrain. Vancouver is one of our favourite cities and it deserves some more of your time.
DAY 9: MT VERNON
After a few days (or longer) in Vancouver, head south and cross the border back into the United States. Continue south along Interstate 5to Mount Vernon for your overnight stop.
DAY 10: SEATTLE
Just 40 miles back to the Cruise America depot in Everett where you're RV adventure concludes
